walp...
I went and bought 8 ratchet-strap tie-downs. with some furious screwing around, they ought to do the job
I am now certain there is no local source for rattan of any sort, nor for 2-part epoxy with an appropriate working time.
I will certainly have to wet-bend the core before final assembly.
I am considering using carpenter's glue for the fianl assembly.

I prefer crusts made from scratch, too, but when what you want is a cheap and dirty chicken pot pie or shepard's pie, a refrigerated crust is nice to have.
What kind of soups? Do you have any sour cream? Rice?

neither chicken pot pie nor shepherd's pie are edible, so who CARES what crust you use?
that's like worrying over the festive wrapping for a dungbomb.

I'd prefer Tibbet's Dream.

I ate some ramen noodle soup.
I don't have any sour cream, but I do have rice.

We're still in apple season and will be for a few more weeks here in Pa.
I love going to the orchard to pick apples. I love making apple pies, apple cake, apple butter, apple jelly, apple cobbler, and apple torte. The kitchen always looks a mess, but the scents are divine!

The last time I had tried this (before the other day) was when I was a kid. We probably used all kinds of apples back then. I have a bag of red delicious, and I was just joking around with that.

"...I got a G this time." Hmmm. I wonder what ol' Shapka's been up to?
Anyway, the preliminary results are in on the proposed name for the flying castle twirling space habitat thingy, and it looks as though the most popular candidate is "The UTS Stunehenge."
This may in fact be more appropriate than I at first considered. Think about the adjectives that describe Stonehenge -- circular, mysterious, astronomical purpose, barren plain, standing stones. Obviously some of these phrases apply to our beloved castle as well.
We won't announce the results officially just yet. There are still some precincts that haven't reported in, but I think we can tell which way this is trending.

Thanks for the update.
You haven't been spending all of your time tallying the vote, surely?

Tibbet's Dream? I think we are coming close to a grand finale! It's got my vote.

The only down side to picking your own fruits and veggies is that it ruins you for store bought stuff. I still think actually buying lettuce is a sin.

I'll probably be in bed. Have to roll out early for choir rehearsal, and extra early to hit the Drunkin' Donuts on the way to rehearsal!
Good night, everyone! See you tomorrow evening, I hope.

Stunehenge would be okay.
