I am sure that Butters is the reincarnation of the Press Your Luck Whammy.

He is destined for a life of suffering for taking all that money away from greedy yuppies in the 80s.

His parents were so upset about his death, but the first episode that introduced him as a major character had his parents trying to drown him by sinking their car with him in it. They are so pathetic.

BTW, my daughter had one of those "fortune telling devices". We had a great laugh over this show.
