Game 2 Live Thread! Chicago leads series 1-0
Pettite vs. Buehrle
Fat Elvis doubles! 4-2 Astros!
Woo Hoo! 4-2 Astros!
Houston finally gets a big two-out hit. Well done.
Come on Ensberg!!
I think they need to complete the 5th inning for the game to
be official; if home team is ahead, the game is official
by the middle of the fifth...if they're behind, the _end_
of the fifth...if tied the game is suspended..IIRC>
I wonder if that'll be it for Buehrle?
In the regular season sure.
...but they'll stick around as long as needed to complete the game, just in case the skies do open
Prayers to you, FRiend, and to all Florida FReepers... I hope Wilma passes you by!
They'd sit around till 3:00 if they had to.
double by CWS in bottom of 5th
I have one of those pocket sized baseball rulebooks
From 4.10 If a game is called it is a regulation game:
1)If five innings have been completed
2)If the home team has scored more runs in four or four and a fraction half-innings than the visiting team has scored in five completed half-innings
3) If the home team scores one or more runs in its half of the fifth inning to tie the score
etc
Now THAT was the way to handle a run-down, unlike the bush-league example the Stros showed last night.
Nice play by Pettite.
OMG, AND a pick-off!!
Rain coming harder
Here Comes the Rain Again--Eurythmics
Here Comes that Rainy Day Feeling Again--Fortunes
Another Rainy Day in NYC--Chicago
Feel So Bad (Feel like a ballgame on a rainy
day)--blues song by diff. artists
Rain--Beatles
(and oh, about a zillion other tunes...Kentucky Rain,
Laughter in the Rain, Walking in the Rain)
picked off--inning over
Pettite literally got himself out of that inning.
Then Pettitte picks off Iguchi. Can you say crafty veteran?
Pettitte's two best throws of the inning were not to the plate!
Tim Raines.
He's playing better defense than his teammates!
