Why couldn't they at least play the weekend games during the daytime? I know there would be competition with college and pro FB, but at least we wouldn't have to look at baseball players in sweats and long johns. I know that TV revenue is all-controlling, though.

Does anyone else remember sneaking a radio into school to listen to the WS?

I'm really pulling for the Astros, but the ChiSox power may be the difference this series.

I remember listening to the 6th and 7th games of the 1968 WS between the Tigers and Cards. Incredible series with Detroit coming back from a 3-1 deficit to win.

I was in 8th grade but kept my transistor hidden well enough to be able to listen until school FINALLY got out.

Yup..transistor radio..and remeber Bowie Kuhn sitting in Yankee satdium in a suit, no coat, in the freezing cold...then it turned out he had long johns on under the suit..
