"Maybe it's just me but I think that woman sounds horrible."
No, it's not just you. That was embarrassing. And to think I actually spent money on her records 15 years ago. Her first couple of records are classics, especially "Exile in Guyville" (of course it's feminazi indie rock, but hey).....

I'm not originally from Chicago, but I am a lifelong Cubs fan living in Houston. While it was fun watching the Cubs get the better of the Astros this year, I really have to admire the heart and winning attitude of these guys here in Houston, and that's why I am pulling for them. There's something special about a team on which none of the players (not even Clemens) is bigger than the game.

OK, let's get Taveras home this time.
To: Yossarian
Well, it was done in good spirit and wasn't disrespectful, even if her voice wasn't in great shape. (To give her the benefit of the doubt, it's getting cold out there....)
I guess considering the recent actions of the entertainment nitwits these days, I'll call this a plus.
(Yes, I'm a pushover for guitar-playing blondes....)
Yeah, I wasn't expecting a great performance from Liz Phair, as I've heard her earlier work before she got mainstream exposure and her voice then was rather weak. But she can rock in the rock environment.

I hope the Stros get him home. When Willie T drives it to the wall, its time to pull your pitcher.

1st and 3rd, 0 out. Berkman hit it too hard to get Taveras home.

Does Phil call for the squeeze with a left handed pitcher and Willie T on third?

Houston was great -- lived/worked there 1998-2000. Is Westheimer and Hillcroft still Westheimer and Hillcroft? That's close to where I lived, and there used to be a guy at that intersection with no arms or legs. He would scoot back and forth on a skateboard, taking money from people in cars, with a cup which he extended out several feet, using only a straw and his mouth. I used to give him a little money whenever I saw him; I can't imagine life without arms or legs. I still am in awe of that whole scene. The only time I lived in a big city.

I doubt it. Hopefully Lamb will lift one to the outfield and not hit into a double play.
To: DrewsDad
If Houston doesn't win tonight, I'm going to be deeply saddened!

I was from far north side, Cub fan.... Whereabouts on the far north side? I'm from near Devon & Western. Also, from your comments, I see we're about the same age; you're about three years older than I am (I was born in 1953). I used to go just about every game at Wrigley Field when I was a kid--only 75 cents. Went to a bunch of Sox games, too, in the 1970s.
married a girl from Cicero..Sox fan family
I've got a mixed marriage, too--Cards fan.

I think he just sits there.

ARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!
Where's the clutch hitting?
To: DrewsDad
He won't do it now with 2 outs.
To: DrewsDad
I know -- I'm getting frustrated. It's okay, though. Houston will come out on top.

Bagwell due next to face "the big tall guy" (they showed Guillen motioning for the big tall pitcher) Jenks I believe
To: freedom1st
My guess is that Palmeiro comes in to face the right hander.
