I understand. I am upset about:
1. Immigration
2. The education and drug bills.
3. "the neew tone"
4. overspending

I am happy for the following:
1. Justice Roberts, Justice Alito
2. The war against Islamofascists. We are winning because of the R's.
3. Tax cuts that are keeping the economy strong
4. Tort reform, plus the attempt at SS and entitlement reform

There are a lot more, but these are the main ones. The positives are so much more important than the negatives, plus I believe pressure has come to bear on immigration big time and that is beginning to and will be addressed more fully, the new tone seems to have been blasted to H*ll this past week, and the pubbies are beginning to reign in the drunken sailor spending.

It's the base that has preserved the postives, and the base that is pressuring against the negatives. This is not an easy war for the soul of America (and that's what it is), do not lose hope, do not give up.

plus the attempt at SS reform

Excuse me SS was forced taxzation which in my younger days I could have invested in a retirement plan instead of what is left over from the ponzi scheme!

in the 60's-80's progressive tax ran rapid until Reagan was elected and than we got NWO Bush & Clinton they need to raise money

That is true.

the new tone seems to have been blasted to H*ll this past week,

One week out of the past 5 years....can we yet say "finally" they can "see"? Or will it go back to what it's been like for five years' duration? I'm crossing my fingers and hope that the "blind men picked up the hammers and saw."

the pubbies are beginning to reign in the drunken sailor spending.

Long overdue, but, hey, it's a good sign.

The positives are so much more important than the negatives, plus I believe pressure has come to bear on immigration big time and that is beginning to and will be addressed more fully

Security of our country has been given lip-service, as far as I'm concerned, as long as the borders are kept wide open. Along with the security aspect, millions of low-income, poor, invading our country has brought a massive negative impact in our communities and economy....we see crime of all sorts: rapes, gangs, murders, drugs, and tax evasion....that includes the illegal's employers, who pay them under the table. Though illegals, and their employers do not pay withholding taxes, Americans pay for illegal room and board at jails, medical care at hospitals and education, higher education benefits (which my own children are refused...though, AFTER taxes, I probably take home as much money as many illegals send to their families in Mexico). And our government wants to incorporate Mexicans into the "American" Social Security system.

U.S. Social Security For Mexicans?
January 15, 2003

....The deputy White House press secretary has just confirmed that the Social Security Administration has begun discussions with Mexico about an agreement to allow Mexicans to receive U.S. Social Security benefits. One plan is to allow Mexicans, who were not employed in the U.S. long enough to collect U.S. Social Security benefits, to count the time they worked in Mexico as part of the mandatory 10 years or 40 quarters.

Totalization With Mexico Could "Total" Social Security

...the State Department and the Social Security Administration having now signed onto the idea of Totalization with Mexico, it has become an issue that could devastate the American Social Security system, and therefore, an issue which needs to be brought to the attention of EVERY AMERICAN! As I view it, this literally has the potential to bankrupt our retirement system.

Should the President sign this treaty, it would instantly make millions of Mexicans, both legal AND ILLEGAL, eligible for S.S. benefits. Naturally, this comes at a time when the President (of whom, in most matters, I am a strong supporter) is going around the country trying to convince Americans that the Social Security system is in crisis…and with that, I agree!

The Social Security Administration would have us believe that illegal workers would not qualify under a Totalization Agreement with Mexico. However, according to azcentral.com, an Inspector General's report says that the SSA "doesn't consider the work-authorization status of the individual when they earned the wages. It only considers whether the individual can prove he or she paid Federal Insurance Contribution Act (FICA) taxes as part of this work." And, even IF the claim that Illegal workers were not eligible were true, the writing on the wall is that a general amnesty is on the horizon, which would immediately make ALL illegals (and their dependants) eligible...

Though, I agree, the pressure must be kept on Congress, the Senate, and the President, I fear they will continue to act contrary to our wishes or for what's in the best interest of America/Americans.

What I find absurd is that conservatives are finding it necessary to apply pressure to Republicans in areas about which Republicans shouldn't even need to be pressured.
