Sure, but folks have more fun learning something when they are learning how to use and care for something that is THEIRS. It makes for an extra attentive student if it is their own shiny new toy they are learning about.

Yes, very true, that's a good idea all the time just on general principles, mainly 'cause I love the lady and want her to think well of me also. Considering all the dumbass things I've done in my life, getting married to her was one of the few things I got right the first time.

Hey Hair, a note on the female psyche - Any logical arguments for buying a new rifle, and there are some pretty good ones, are actually beside the point, since Jeanne would understand without having to even think about it that those arguments are not particularly relevant to the primary motivation, which is mainly that the thing is a cool gun.
