Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well, we have:
- A retired USMC Lt. Colonel, back home in her small West Texas town and trying to fit in with a family that was never quite hers to begin with;
- A sexy veterinarian, trying to save the nephew and the sister-in-law he doesn't know from his avaricious parents;
- A traumatized little boy who doesn't speak, but communicates when it counts;
- A psychopatic murderer/good ol' boy; and
- A secretive ex-con who's everywhere she shouldn't be.
Mix with dogs and drugs, and, hopefully, you have the novel Speak To My Soul.
I hope.
I'm still working on the outline.
Are you gonna cheer us NoNo'ers along?
To: Rose in RoseBear
Sounds wonderful, Rose! WOW! I'm impressed.
I'll be cheering you along and hopefully making a go of it myself this year. ;-D

The nano is cute ... but you're probably gonna have to pay full price for some time, as it's a popular little deely-bopper.
Maybe you should get two ... you'd like one, wouldn't you?
To: RMDupree
Cool! What'cha gonna write about?
To: Rose in RoseBear
Hmm... good stuff.
I wish I could write fiction. My only real problem is coming up with a "story" that isn't boring and predictable. And characters... that's a problem. Well... and dialog... that's a problem too. ...and...
:-)

HA! I really have no idea.
I've been thinking a lot of shape-shifting lately, but I worry that the subject has been played out.

Alyson just got up from bed, went to the bathroom and went pee-pee all by herself.
*proud mama*
Problem is, she loved the attention, so now she doesn't want to get off the seat.

Evenin'. Me. Tired.
Now that I've finished revising our product catalog, I've been delegated a new project. I get to set up and configure a new card-swipe time clock.

Nah ... the good thing about polymorphing is that the shapes are limitless!
Shape-shifting as in were-people, or shape-shifting as in more generic morphing?
To: Rose in RoseBear
I was thinking the shape-shifter is a female, who is unaware of the ability until during a traumatic event - she changes.
I wasn't going to limit her to animals, but it's where I draw the line that's fuzzy.
But that make work in my favor, so that she discovers her abilities as I create them.

Shape-shifting as in were-people, or shape-shifting as in more generic morphing? You could do a story about shape-shifting in a hurricane.
