The Hobbit Hole XXV - Fare you well! Fare you well!
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 10/15/2005 7:13:08 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Fare you well! Fare you well!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I had a friend in college who named her car "B.O.B." It stood for "Bucket of Bolts." I thought it was cute.

You scored as Batman, the Dark Knight. As the Dark Knight of Gotham, Batman is a vigilante who deals out his own brand of justice to the criminals and corrupt of the city. He follows his own code and is often misunderstood. He has few friends or allies, but finds comfort in his cause.

Well I answered that one neutral. I was not sure if they mean tight fitting on ME or on someone else....

I was hoping to break 6000 before the end of the weekend and I did.

Heh...I just worked in cheese sandwiches, too.

The one I'm most worried about is the pawn shop. I can do the rest. May even name the Igor type character Guido.

Why is it that scissors mysteriously depart the second you need to use 'em?

I would suspect time traveling ninjas. The radio warned me on the way home from church that this was a 'time warp' weekend....

*sigh* I dunno how I'm gonna get ninjas in my story. They don't quite fit.

Found the scissors, though, despite the ninjas. One pair, anyhow. We have maybe three or four pairs in the house, but they hide. Sneaky little critters, they are.

I just slipped in Aloe as the name of a city. And another called Corin just for kicks. Apparently some crazy types are from over that way.

Just broke 9000 and still going.

Maybe I can say something is "ninja-like". If that'd be enough.

Well they had bad luck to live near some crazies. I am pretty sure the city got burned in some riots. It was pretty much empty already though.

Bob just landed in a field of llamas.

Maybe I'll make 'em ninja llamas, too, just to kill that one.

I suppose using WD40 on computer keys would be overkill. ;-)

WD40! It does not conduct electricity so it is fine for use on keyboards. Don't ask me how I know.
