Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Have they been terrorizing people/dogs/cats/horses?

Morning/Afternoon OT - indeed it was, though tis a beautiful day. Had a good range session yesterday, nothing like a grey day to one's thoughts to smell of powder burning. Will need to go get more cleaning supplies, bore scrubber and break free. Then pick up the pics from the wetlands trip. Picked a couple great days for the field work, doesn't often turn out that well.
Leaves coming down now, will need to find the rake eventually. Seems the neighbors banging and sawing. The ones behind us are building a storage shed. Well, the dad is anyway.

Heh...it's so intimidating. ;-)
I've decided that reading a book is SO much more fun than writing one.
So I've started re-re-re-re-reading a favorite.
When the silence that followed had become uncomfortable, he added: "I am just about to take tea; pray come and have some with me." A little stiff perhaps, but he meant it kindly. And what would you do, if an uninvited dwarf came and hung his things up in your hall without a word of explanation?

I suppose I should get started on the leaves soon, but I like to wait until all of them have fallen....or blown into the neighbors' yards.
I need to tend the compost pile today....and get a lot of words in on TheGreatCrappyNovel. Gots accelerant so I'll be grilling a steak a little bit later today.
To: RMDupree
"What do you mean?" he said. "Do you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not; or that you feel good this morning; or that it is morning to be good on?"
"All of them at once"

It's a good morning whether you want one or not.

Leaves coming down now, will need to find the rake eventually. Ours are almost all dropped... I look forward to getting the yard raked, but I don't bother till all the leaves are off the trees. :~D

*remembers Gidget's obsession with moles* YIKES! Gidget's pretty lethal on small game, so I worry about her. But she's being good. The dogs just startle and lunge a little when a kitten runs across the floor. "Do they make good sport?"
Just a few more because these are awful darn cute. Pippin is such a moron ;~D

Homer's being good too...

There can never be too many cute pet pics!
Pippin is gonna be a handful, no doubt about it.
But Gidget and Homer deserve BIG praise for being patient with the alien arrivals!

Kittenz!! So cute! You're going to have to pick one or two and doctor them up with blue lightning for zotting purposes.

Someday some sociology doctoral candidate is going to have a field day writing a thesis on us all. Heh.
To: Lil'freeper
er, how about a dissertation. We deserve at least a book. Yeah.
