Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Just show 'em the picture of the Hobbit Hole doorway and say "look these people know who I am..."

"We Have No Bananas" fits nicely in the keywords.

hehehehehe....
That may not be the best thing for her to do, hon.
They may revoke the offer on the basis of "too weird, even for us".

Oh well, Shore did a magnificient job on LOTR. I hadn't planned to see King Kong anyway, so I wouldn't have heard it anyway. After LOTR, King Kong is schlock, even if it's PJ's version of it.
Looking at his film score history, Shore did mostly schlock, as did Peter Jackson. Both went above and beyond their previous works to do LOTR. Anything after that (except for The Hobbit) is a step down for both of them.

Reminds me of an old West Virginia joke that I shouldn't tell in mixed company...

The only reason I'm happy that King Kong is coming out is because I'm hoping PJ will get to work on The Hobbit before Ian McKellan retires or dies.
And I'm still wondering who will be cast as Bilbo if Ian Holmes is out.

Use the super-secret white font. Those with delicate sensibilities need not use the decoder ring. ;-D

I think it was the opening score of "Yes, We Have No Bananas" that started the whole problem... *belly laugh* Oh my! Too funny!

Super secret white font West Virginia joke follows...
Bubba came home and said "Daddy, I met the woman I want to marry. And she says she's a virgin."
"Son, you can't marry her. If she ain't good enough for her own family, she ain't good enough for us."
Not really ~that~ bad. But I figgered it's enough to be offensive...

So, I just realized the actor that played Zaphod was the same actor that played "Guy" in Galaxy Quest...

If we are simply afraid of change, an older Elijah Wood, made to look a little different than Frodo did, would be good in the part. A family resemblance might be expected, if it wasn't confusing to people as to who's who when looking at all four together.
Otherwise, I bet it's someone we'll never have heard of.

I guess the biggest reason that I want Ian Holmes to play Bilbo is so The Hobbit is cohesive with the LOTR trilogy.
The part that shows him finding The Ring and later when Gandalf tells him he hasn't aged a day.
Slather some pancake on that man and make it happen.

I'm plumb tuckered! I made and canned another half-gallon of tomato sauce and 3 quarts of apple butter. I cleaned house, did laundry, played hostess endlessly, made guacamole and chile con queso. and for my father in law, I made cookies.
I need a weekend to recover from my weekend.
To: RMDupree
I think Ian Holmes will be too old.

By the time they get around to making The Hobbit CGI would be good enough to just have a digital Ian Holms play Bilbo.
