I do fault players when they are a asked direct question and lie to save their ass. Not a single whitesox player manager etc were honest about it. Not one.

Again I ask, If the batter truly believed it was a live ball, why did he stop at first base?

I didn't see the play or a replay. But my guess is that he stopped at first because he didn't think he could make it to 2nd without drawing a throw.

Would you be this upset if this play would have happened in the third inning and the Angels still won?

Would you be this upset if the Angels had gotten Chede out and won it in the 10th inning?

It reminds me of all the Cardinal fans who hate Don Denkinger when he blew a call in game 6 of the 85 series. Or the people who think Bill Buckner lost the 86 series, or that Steve Bartman cost the Cubs a shot at the 2003 World Series. The fact is that umpires make mistakes. I believe they are usually HONEST mistakes. Good teams overcome that, and I'm sure Mike Scioscia has told his team to concentrate on tomorrow's game.

After the players saw the batter run to first, they ealized it was considered a live ball and ran and retrieved the ball from the infield grass, before the batter could run towards second...
