Sermon by Palestinian Sheik Mudeiris: The Tsunami was Allah's Revenge at Bangkok Corruption

The following are excerpts from a mosque sermon aired on Palestinian Authority TV by Sheik Ibrahim Mudeiris:

"What happened there, in South-East Asia ... we ask God to have mercy upon all the martyrs - for he who dies by drowning is a martyr. We ask God to have mercy upon all the Muslims who died there. Allah willing, they are martyrs. But, don't you think that the wrath of the earth and the wrath of the sea should make us reflect? Tens of thousands dead, and many predict that the number will be in the hundreds of thousands. We ask God for forgiveness. When oppression and corruption increase, the law of equilibrium applies. I can see in your eyes that you are wondering what the 'universal law of equilibrium' is. This law is a divine law. If people are remiss in implementing God's law and in being zealous and vengeful for His sake, Allah sets his soldiers in action to take revenge."

I know this may seem old-hat, but it illustrates a point exceptionally well. Especially the phrase "If people are remiss in implementing God's law and in being zealous and vengeful for His sake, Allah sets his soldiers in action to take revenge."

The zealous and vengeful part really jumps out at me. Isn't that what Bin Laden is perpetrating? What of the terrorists in Iraq? Or, say, the acts of terrorism commited against the non-muslim population of Kashmir?

I would have to guess that the earthquake was one of "Allah's soldiers". Or maybe the True Creator that knows the injustices that are commited in His name, is dealing with the followers of a mass-murdering pedophile (Mohammad)in a manner that they will surely understand.

Apparently, allah does not set his soldiers in action to provide releief efforts to those martyred by drowning in tsunamic or crushed by earthquake.

It's time for people to start asking Bin Laden and Al Queda, just what are their plans and contributions to disaster relief efforts around the world, besides taking credit for creating the disasters?

Al-Afif Al-Akhdar, Tunisian intellectual, asked...

"Why do expressions of tolerance, moderation, rationalism, compromise, and negotiation horrify us [Muslims], but [when we hear] fervent cries for vengeance, we all dance the war dance?... Why do other people love life, while we love death and violence, slaughter and suicide, and [even] call it heroism and martyrdom?"

Tells us something about their god, Allah, doesn't it.

If Allah were the creator of life, one would think he would love life and would encourage his followers would love life.

But who is the creator of death? And who is it that loves death and slaughter and suicide? Why that would be Allah.

Makes a fella think...unless, of course, that fella is a muslim.

"Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name."
