Newscorp has always had a stake in the Weekly Standard. Murdoch loaned Kristol the money to start it, no doubt because Kristol bragged about his "insider connections."

I know this because I used to be a stockholder and got the reports.

One of the things I find irritating about Fox is while they often comment that the New York Post is also owned by their parent company, they seldom do that with Kristol or Fred Barnes. I think it is not honest, in that they let those guys on as advertisements for their magazine.

Murdoch does want to make money, which is why I always wondered about his stake in the Standard. Maybe it was some sort of tax write-off. LOL!

Thanks for the background.

What an "interesting" website. I'm sure they also monitor every mention of connections in the Time/Warner or the GE empires. /not
