Cell Phone Owners
self

Posted on 10/09/2005 4:19:18 PM PDT by hsmomx3

I had a PI investigate the name and address of a cell phone number for personal reasons and they came back with information which is not the name of the person who uses the phone.

Is it possible that cell phone companies do not update their information?

I got the name, address, cell phone carrier for the party but it is not who it is supposed to be.

Does anyone know how accurate cell phone data is?

I have three cell phone numbers billed to me, on a company discount plan ( max allowed under the plan).

Only one of those phones is actually used by me.

The info that the company has is the person who opened the account and is responsible for the bill, not necessarily who is using it.
A friend of mine caught her daughter with a phone that she was unaware of, and some guy had given it to her so he could stay in contact with her. It was another kind of cell phone - a prepaid type and he would go online and add funds to it.
There are also pre-paid disposable phones now that you buy at 7 eleven and they are hard to track.

I get msg on my land line most every day from the big 3 cell phone companies asking me to call them about my plan/payment issues. I never answer the calls, and they call constantly, but I dont have service with them never had. I used to answer the phone and tell them they GOT THE WRONG DUDE but they only apologize and call me the again the next day. Is there data up to date? I dont think so..... By the way, they have been calling for over 2 years... they dont give up.

That's a totally different situation. You are on a call list and they are trying to get you to respond so that they can try to sell you a plan.

Ignore isn't working for you, so report them.

Or, do what I do.

Threaten them.

I like to put on my black leather jacket when doing the threatening thing.

Puts me in the mood while dialing.

Good luck!

--Try waving a gun in the air while you chew them out (make sure it's unloaded first), get a cigar and smoke it also and that should help complete your tough man image =)
