BTW, have you noticed that even though the White Sox had the best record in the American League, and even though they swept Boston in this series, the vast majority of the posts in this thread have been about the Red Sox? The White Sox are still virtual unknowns, the Rodney Dangerfields of baseball, who get no respect. Well most White Sox fans don't want their respect. We were picked by most to finish 4th in our division. We are still picked as the worst odds to win the World Series behind San Diego. We are still picked as the underdogs behind everyone.
I enjoy being the underdog. The Boston Red Sox found that out this weekend.
I actually had picked the White Sox to win the division, narrowly over Minnesota, with Cleveland third. I had pegged the Sox for about 10 fewer wins than they ended up with, though.
The Sox, like the Cardinals, got their late-season slump out of the way just in time, perking up at the very end. Both teams are playing very well right now.
