Great suggestions Dolly Cali, I've got two altered male cats who came to me at separate times and, unfortunately, they don't like each other. This has been the case for over 4 years now. Wish there were a way to solve this problem. They'll sleep within 4 feet of each other and be fine but once awake it's no holds barred! I'd LOVE to get a female kitten that I could cuddle, but afraid since they don't like each other how they'd treat the new one. I'm tempted since it would be a female kitten, but just don't know. Any ideas?

that is an interesting story. Over the years, if I compare all my cats I have found the neutered males more affectionate than female cats.

I think again, cats are like some people, they just don't get along. Not sure there are any answers to the two 4 year old males.

They both would prolly get along with the female & doubtful they would hurt her. Might have a bit more competition between them. And for sure the youth, playfulness would spark them up a bit.

I have a little philosophy that I think works for kids & pets. KEEP THEM PHSYCIALLY EXHAUSTED.

I found with my son, when he wrestled, bike road, heavy hiked etc , he was calmer, nicer & stayed out of trouble.

for all my cats & my two dogs now.. run, run, run. with kittys, get them to retrieve, Make up a makeshift fishing pole with toy on end to chase around after. whatever you can do.

People/animals who are bored get into more trouble & are not as nice. My dogs have a couple hours of big running each day.. when I miss a day (or horrors two) due to weather, health , busy etc... they are bouncing off the wall & non of us are happy.

(even cranky, grouchy men seem to work the same way)

:-)
