I don't remember if the mouse was really that big or if it just got tossed real close to the camera and it's a forced perspective thing.
They'd take the whole eye out, not just the lens.... Lens replacement at a kitty opthamologist was thousands. So I said... OK - how much to just take the whole eye out and sew it shut? (Thinking it'd only be a couple hundred bucks) - He said it'd be about $700. Gads... He's a teenage cat... and I'm not that hung up on appearances. So I decided to take him home and wait and see.... if he damaged it, which is a risk because he doesn't have good blink reflex in that eye, it'd be another story, but I just couldn't see spending that much if I can avoid it. It doesn't hurt him and he obviously gets around just fine.

Good grief! The day is coming when we will be forced to get health insurance for our pets. I think you are correct in not having the eye removed unless he injures it. He looks pretty frisky to me.
