A California family's black labrador jumped up and ate its owner's $6,000 anniversary ring as the woman was admiring it with a friend, according to a Local 6 News report.
Barbara Wiesner said she had handed the ring to her friend when her dog, King, grabbed and swallowed the diamond.
After a day of waiting for nature to take its course, the family took the dog to a veterinarian and an X-ray showed the stone near his stomach.
The veterinarian was able to retrieve the ring with an endoscope.
"The dog is fine, the ring is fine and I don't take the ring off my finger now," Wiesner said. "No matter what, it doesn't come off."
The ring was Wiesner's 30th wedding anniversary.

LOL, typical Labrador. I have one and it's like owning a furry garbage disposal.

And they think they're lap dogs. Actually, that's not so special. My late 105 pound German Shepherd thought that he was a lap dog.

I'm sure it will come out fine in the end.

We have a Lab also and the greatest thing about Labs is that they never entirely stop being puppies. And, she's been with us for eleven years.

Yep - mine is 12 1/2 and while she's getting really gimpy she's still a big baby in a lot of ways. They have a cheerful innocence and enthusiasm for things (particularly things to eat ) that never goes away.

And they think they're lap dogs I've got a Lab and a Chesapeake and they both try to be lap dogs and the Chessie weighs about 130.
My Lab. The Chessie is resting under the boat (camera shy).

So who gets to check the dog's "presents" until the ring appears? And would the woman want it back when it did?
To: jaydubya
Yes, this too, shall pass...:o)

How could you be mad at a face like that?

I can definitely relate about your Chessie! I've got a 140lb Great Pyrenees that still is mommas lap dog...only problem is, his head is the only thing that fits in my lap!! Sometimes he even tries to lay on me when I'm in bed...he's only 2 1/2, and a total mommas boy (that's where I got my FR SN, he is Cody Jack), and has a face that just melts me every time, no matter what he was into. LOL

--Labs are wonderful dogs, my friend's dog died recently and he was a awesome dog, I always enjoyed visiting, he was very mellow in his old age.

Yeah ... that's a dog that can be cut a little slack ... besides, that ring will find it's way out the back door soon enough.
