In FR News today, the forum formerly known as “Free” Republic went downhill at an amazing speed. Moderators insanely restrict the postings of fellow conservatives and this long time FReeper JesseP will have no more. The $72,000 pledge drive, told to me by Jim Robinson himself is primarily going to fund his personal expenses along with two of the mods. In other words when the wife receives a gift, it is paid for by fellow FRreepers donations. This Ex FReeper will now be calling his bank and canceling the donation made this weekend and it is suggested that others do the same.
Go check your pings and help me tease Leapfrog someone. ;)
I am fairly new to this site, but I have a question why are there so many threads in regards to people being banned? is this something that goes on daily?
As a conservative and a christian I see so many threads that are so divided by insulting remarks and hostility, IMHO it's really sad that our world is so divided especially americans that have such distain for one another with there political views.
I hope one day maybe liberals and conservatives, democrats and republicans will truly learn to respect one another and hope that we all want the best for our country, families and fellow man..
Maybe just wishful thinking but still can have hope...

FR is a private “for profit” site owned by Jim Robinson. The fact that it is number one in the word is a testament to his talent and tenacity.
I have never contributed to FR before; it just didn’t seem conservative to pay for something offered for free. However, your post has made me realize the true value to this site, the costs associated cost with keeping it running and yes the intellectual property rights deserved by JR. So I was thinking, if FR charged would I pay to stay and the answer was absolutely.
I have been here for years and I can no longer live with the shame, I feel cheep and unworthy of participation in this great form.
I must go now and make my first monthly contribution. May the Viking Kitties forgive my previous intemperance.

There are a lot of Christians on FR, laney. Just not stupid ones...trolls seem to be drawn to FR in greater numbers seasonally, dependent upon what the political seasons are.
They routinely assume a recognizable and tiresome method of posing as one thing falsely for purposes of generating an argument about something otherwise, morerless like someone telling you "you'd be attractive if you only would wear something else." You know, "I'm your friend so I can tell you what people REALLY think about you, but it isn't good." Oh, and ending with, "trust me, I care about you."
It's just easier to make outright fun of people who try to use the place to malign the place (and issues), than try to reason with the unreasonable. People who sneak, lie, cheat, steal (stealing includes the patience, time, resources of others)...well, let me know if/when you come up with a more efficient way to deal with cheaters. Because, exposing them for what they are usually gets right to the heart of the problem the quickest means possible. It also helps to point out the uselessness of the trolling methods, 'cause it's never effective to dialogue with them.
