2005 MLB POST SEASON MATCHUPS
ALDS
BOSTON RED SOX VS. CHICAGO WHITE SOX
NEW YORK YANKEES VS. LOS ANGELES ANGELS OF ANAHEIM
NLDS
SAN DIEGO PADRES VS. ST. LOUIS CARDINALS
HOUSTON ASTROS VS. ATLANTA BRAVES
Hansen could come in handy if the Sox need to get through an inning to get to Papelbon.
While I understand the reasoning, I would have hoped that having the best record in baseball would have counted for something. So, we'll have to listen to it on the radio at work. At least the World Series is in the evening. We have some unfinished business with the Red Sox!
Buck is still bitter about what the Sox did to his Cardinals last year.
Is that officially a curse?
I'd really love to not see Millar get an at bat in this series but sadly that won't happen.
The Red Sox players are not responsible for, or can do much about the city they play in and the people who live there. However, the Williams family did have the choice about who they hung around with, befriended, and had over for dinner. And when the people they chose were Black Panthers, it's fair to question that judgement. I suppose if Dodger GM Paul DePodesta's father was good friends with the grand dragon of the Klan and had David Duke as his godfather, he would take a little more heat and face more scrutiny than Williams has. But of course, we all know the double standard is at work, as usual.
Won't matter if the Red Sox hitting is at its norm.
Something has to give; we shall see.
ChiSox rooting for their pitching to hold form and their hitting to outperform; BoSox rooting for hitting to hold form and pitching to outperform. Perfect symmetry.
I want them to bring Mueller back but I also want to see Youkilis become an everyday player next year. Put him at first.
Yeah, the Angels should be able to sweep the Yankees!
I'm just happy they didn't have to play a one game playoff game.
Well, they haven't even had a sniff of the WC since - 86 years ago - so you do the math ;-)
He's probably at his end right now. Don't forget that he was pitching in college this year. Peter Gammons told him not to worry about anything right now in that he doesn't have his stuff going right now. His arm angle is off, no good slider and his FB isn't even at it's top velocity.
It's a good education for him though and he can certainly learn a lot about the big leagues from hanging around some veterans. Be on the lookout for him in 2006/07 with Delcarmen
Clement needs to get a handle on his pitches.....
Don't overlook those Padres!! /major sarcasm
Uh... yeah. With a comment like that, you sound like Jean-Francois Kerry's dumber brother. Don't forget about Manny Ortez!
Well they did make it 1959 but they fell to the Dodgers in six. I can't believe the city of Chicago has not hosted a World Series game since Ike was President!
I do feel better with Arroyo available out of the pen.
He's got to stay ahead of the hitters.
I think the Braves have that je ne sais quoi this year. Their youngsters don't realize that they're supposed to fold in the playoffs.
And having 2 Hudson starts and 1 Smoltz can go a long way.
