Spastic Fingers Kill Folders (help requested)
original ^ | today | self

Posted on 09/30/2005 12:05:54 PM PDT by SAJ

Running Outlook Express e-mail under Win 98, I accidentally clicked on folder A and folder B, right below A in the list, at the same time. Another click on A actually seems to have deleted the entire folder.

Any suggestions as to how to recover folder A and its contents will be very much appreciated, and TIA to all !

(...and yes, I am logged in.)

Is Folder B inside Folder A now?

Did you look in your deleted items?

Bingo! Folder A has been made a subfolder of folder B. Easily remedied now.

MANY, MANY thanks!!

Folder A contains 5 years' worth of newsletters from one of the finest forex analysts in the world, Barbara Rockefeller, and I'd have had some TALL explaining to do had they been lost forever!

A genuine Krug electric and a lifetime supply of butyl mercaptan, of course.

Thanks again!

Having been the victim of premature drive demise on a couple occasions, you have no idea how much fun you're in for. :)

Oh, it's backed up every quarter, but the backup happens to be unavailable at this time. It's somewhere in Australia, and it's the middle of the night there now. Doubtless I could have just waited 6 hours and gotten them back, but it's much nicer A) doing it immediately, and B) learning something new.

Wouldn't you agree?

The moose would probably be on the losing end in that deal.

Slacker. Part-timer. Half-day Harry.
Have a nice weekend!

Not me – the writer of the article. I believe in backup.
