So in the world of sociology, 37 informants are enough to make the above statement? And get a Ph.D? I guess that's the difference between real science and pseudoscience: In 100 years, a physicist would be able to teach his predecessor something new, whereas this chick would probably just argue with hers.

Like I said before you obviously do not know the basics of social science research as qualitative data is based upon interpreting data (from a smaller number of subjects) collected over a long process. Have you heard of case studies?? Also, have you looked closely at Barton's data in order to just dismiss her findings?? And speaking of "pseudo-science," just how do you define this?? What is the best method to gain data about this subject? Just because you do not agree with her interpretations doesn't mean you can trash her method...and I hate to break it to you Sociology ain't Physics.
