I know, I could understand their angst if they had to race a car around Daytona.

Without dismissing how their father died (and if they saw him die, then I'm sure they're traumatized), but it's just a little race track. Suck it up! They didn't get this weepy when they had to pedal the party bike around a REAL track a few weeks ago.
