AL CY: Three starter possibilities, Colon, Buehrle, and Santana. All have wins, innings, and ERA, with Colon leading in wins but trailing in ERA. Colon had a rough outing today, and Buehrle a masterful one. Hard to pick among the three. I usually go with a starter, but this time I might go with a reliever: Mariano Rivera. Over 40 saves, a relatively high number of innings, and a microscopic ERA and the rest.

AL MVP: Ortiz? Hafner? No!!! No DH should be MVP!!! Especially when there are position players with close numbers. Manny plays OF, but he's a defensive liabilty and bad for team chemistry. So I give it to a guy with great numbers, fine defense, and on a contending team: A-Rod.

So I give the awards to two HOF players from the Evil Empire, Mo-Riv and A-Rod.

I'd vote for Santana, who I think has been best this year. I think he's going to be hurt, though, by the fact that this season he's not been as good as he was last year when he won the Cy. It's not so easy to beat the drum enthusiastically for someone who's regressed. I have a hunch Mariano's going to sneak in and take it.

AL CY: Colon

AL MVP: I think Ortiz and Manny will split the vote and Hafner will get it.

NL CY: tough one. Pedro is the reason the Mets are still around, while Clemens would have 25 wins with some run support. Carpenter has been fading recently. I think in the end Carpenter will get the award.

NL MVP: Some still are hanging onto Derrick Lee. Maybe if he gets the triple crown, then he gets the MVP, but if that doesn't happen, I think Pujols will get it. Andruw Jones SHOULD get it, but I think Pujols will get it.
