From famed writer/producer Shaun Cassidy ("Cold Case," "American Gothic," "Cover Me") comes a suspenseful tale of a blended family trying to recover from a devastating hurricane and its mysterious aftermath.
For centuries man has searched the skies for signs of intelligent life forms. What if those life forms were already here? And what if some of the natural disasters we've been experiencing of late were merely smokescreens to mask something far more ominous?
For dedicated park ranger Russell Varon (Eddie Cibrian, "Third Watch"), a divorced father of two who is expecting a third child with his new wife, local television reporter Larkin Groves (Lisa Sheridan), the hurricane proves to be merely the beginning of a long journey into the unknown. Always skeptical about the paranoid conspiracy theories of his wayward brother-in-law, Dave (Tyler Labine, ABC's "That Was Then"), Russell may have to revise his thinking when a number of bizarre occurrences start taking place in his community. Though Russell's young daughter, Rose (Ariel Gade), claims to have seen hundreds of lights floating towards the water during the storm, Russell initially dismisses her claim — until he begins to suspect that something is very wrong with his ex-wife, Dr. Mariel Underlay (Kari Matchett, "Angel Eyes"). The morning after the storm, Mariel is found naked in the water — with no memory of what transpired the night before.
As the tiny town of Homestead, Florida struggles to rebuild itself, Sheriff Tom Underlay (William Fichtner, 2005's "The Longest Yard," "Black Hawk Down," "Armageddon," "Go," "Contact") -- who is married to Russell's ex-wife -- suspiciously orders the entire area quarantined. Russell starts to investigate the strange goings on and unknowingly begins a fight for the survival of his family, his community, and what might ultimately be the whole human race.
Why don't you go balance your checkbook or add a column of numbers. Wouldn't want a person born without imagination to feel the pain of loss.
Imagination is one thing: I have plenty of that. Maybe these script writers could use some of it.
The state of sci-fi steeeeeenks, I am just waiting for something decent to come along.

I didn't like what they did with Scully in the last few seasons. She went from the skeptic to the believer? Come on. She saw some damn weird things in the first season alone, but it took Duchovny walking off the set to convert her?
My kids and I were just watching the new show Supernatural on the WB last night. And we were talking about how these "Xfiles type" shows are very popular right now.
I always identified with Mulder (probably why I will end up in a state run institution).
I know I should have observed more from writer's POV, but this always got in the way...

I also loved the X-Files, and miss it...oh well, I can at least watch it every nite in reruns....I always have had a soft spot for the 'Lone Gunmen'...
For the dweebs of this world (you and I and other sci-fi lovers), she is infinitely better than Marilyn Monroe (no insult intended for MM, however).
Now that I think about it, if you count Final Fantasy VII as sci-fi, then Advent Children is a nice way to spend 110 minutes.
Yup, good character building there. Loved those guys.

You know, in the episode where the Lone Gunmen died, there was something that puzzled me, and perhaps you can answer it...in that last episode, their computer'buddy competitor',(cant remember his name), was called in to help track someone...I was surprised to see him, as I recall him being hit by a bus in Las Vegas(in that episode where the Lone Gunmen lured Scully to Las Vegas), and he was killed...I think Scully was supposed to have done an autopsy on him..Now what am I missing here?
I cannot believe the disclaimer in the beginning of the show. Hurricane blah blah. What a nation of sissies we have become where they have to disclaim a fictional TV show because of a fictional hurricane.
