Swedish clothing retailer Hennes and Mauritz has decided not to use Kate Moss in its forthcoming advertising campaign, after photographs of the supermodel snorting cocaine appeared in the British press last week.
"After having considered the situation, we have decided to cancel the planned campaign," said Liv Asarnoj, press officer at HM.
"It is not compatible with our clear opposition to drugs," she told Expressen.
Moss was due to model a range of clothes designed by Stella McCartney in preparation for the collection's launch in November. But images of her, taken in a London recording studio, dividing a pile of cocaine before snorting line after line of the drug through a rolled five pound note put the company off.
HM says it will go ahead with the advertising campaign but will replace Moss with another model.
"I can't say how the new campaign will be at the moment - I don't want to go into details," said Liv Asarnoj.

I've tried to see if some of the 'starving model' pictures were photo-shopped, I've been on Snopes etc and I can't find out if they are.
However, there are plenty of other 'model' pictures that aren't PS'd to make the poing.
Not sure if I buy this. :o)

I mean really, just what were Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell doing visiting Castro of all people in 1998? The Hollywood morons who visit and praise Castro reads like a who`s who of cocaine abuse in Hollywood, Oliver Stone being one of the worst. Havana, February 23(RHC)-- Cuban President Fidel Castro met with top British models Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss on Sunday. The two internationally-known models are in Cuba to pose for photographs as part of a publicity campaign for the French design company Yves Saint Laurent.
Following her meeting with the Cuban leader, Naomi Campbell told reporters that Fidel Castro is -- in her words -- "an inspiration for all the world and a very intelligent man." She said that during the meeting, the Cuban leader briefed the two top models on his personal life and talked about their work.
Campbell said that meeting Fidel Castro was "a dream come true" and that the Cuban president was pleased to hear that Campbell and Moss were in South Africa last week and met with Nelson Mandela.
