How many articles are posted nowadays? I just don't have the time to keep up with all of them. Seems like there's twice as many now as last year.

Yes, the origianl posted should do a daily count analysis starting in about 1998.

I am not sure if natural disasters and nuclear attacks would increase or decrease postings.

I would postulate elections and other natural disaters would increase number of postings but reduce the number of threads. (See the recent monster threads on Katrina, for example.) Nuclear attacks should decrease the number of postings because if EMP.
