How are we ever going to get rid of the alternative minimum tax, and other tax outrages -- like what remains of the marriage penalty, and the still-too-high cap gain taxes -- if we dont' cut spending? Already, Bush's plan to permanently gut the death tax has been sidelined because of all this Katrina spending orgy.
