Cashman isn't sweating...he's NOT coming back to the Yankees..he already has solid offers....under the table, of course, to avoid tampering charges...he's not a GM...he's a glorified errand boy for Steinbrenner..how do you think he feels when he wake up and reads in the paper that Steinbrenner's press agent issues a release saying that the Boss has "ordered" Cashman to accompany the team on a road trip..or to come down to Tampa for a meeting..Nothing wrong with the request..you just don't announce it that way..It's actually a perfect out..because when the Yankees don't make the playoffs..Cashman can be the fall guy..he won't be offered a new deal, becuase they know he will turn it down..

Ah, OK, Cashman NOT coming back. Glorified errand boy!
Cashman is a great GM which any team should sign on if they have the opening. To manage in the Bornz Zoo is an exercise in patience, perserverance and skill. He has had to deal with Georgie boy doling out fat contracts for and/or trading for guys at the end of their careers. Kevin Brown was great up until 3 years ago. Musina is getting old and while RJ can still bring it he's 43 years old for crying out loud.
Quantrill and Stanton have done quite well moving over to the NL.
