Not just Zone alarm is the problem. Norton and McAfee have privacy monitors as well. Those impede your access. Same with the Windows firewall. Also, make sure you disable any other connection to the internet on your lap top. It is my experience that sometimes that gave me trouble with my laptop as well.

Linksys is very good by phone. And I used this website http://www.practicallynetworked.com/ way back when.

I'm on my laptop now through my linksys wireless router. And, I had no trouble with it.

Be patient, it's probably something simple that you will laugh at later (okay much later).

I'm sure of that!

Since I keep getting the status messages about no address, I'm thinking that is the problem. Obviously, I know very little about all of this (and probably shouldn't be attempting to fix it -- but it is interesting....and frustrating too).
