Ok, guys, I thought this was a very effective ending.
He listens to all this crap from his ride, he goes home and watches with them something about the massacre in the school, and parrots back to the people who were telling him there was no good or bad cultures, just what they had been telling him.
And they had no answer, because the evil was so clear.
Good first post. Some people just get antsy about things...especially when the person talking doesn't get into the discussion....makes you look like you're blog pimping (posting something you had written on your blog without any intention of talking about it. Considered something of bad manners here at FR).
Still, I liked it. Doesn't feel particularly trollish to me...you can have your own opinions.
That the poster has not since replied is a bit odd, but I just don't know if this qualifies as a zot worthy thread. Awkward as the story is written, try to re-read it. The poster seems to have twisted his liberal friend's words against her.
You should really learn to drive, if I can do it anyone can. My greatest driving feat to date, non-stop Boston to Bayonne, 5 hours flat with two teenage girls in the car chattering.
It can be done, just keep trying different teachers until you find the right one.
"True friends encourage it."
LOL!
Imagine my surprise. : )
Don't let them get to you.
"Mole Cricket"
They dig, and have sharp little front legs.
And they are uglier than anything on the planet.
Larval cicadas are prettier..
I agree. It's truly stupid.
It is odd that the poster has not replied. Could be s/he felt the post said it all and moved on.
I think I was expecting a different ending and that's why I didn't get. I wanted the poster to say this to the wacky woman.
(Sniffing possible ozone)
Some story-flow questions:
Why did the married couple accompany you into your house? Do you live with them or were they visiting? You didn't make it clear why they wandered into your home and stayed for an hour.
Why did they sit in your house silently for an entire broadcast of the Beslen massacre? You write as if they were like your furniture.
Did you offer your guests food or drinks? They are friends and they do make the effort to haul your rear-end to work everyday. A nice merlot would help the Mrs. as she stomachs the carnage.
Did you and do you offer to pay your fair share of gasoline money for all rides (3-5$ a day by my calculations)? And let's not forget wear on the car. They don't seem like bad people helping you like this.
Do you offer your friends gifts for their generosity, besides the gift of this post? You just posted their shame on the most popular website in the world. I think a crystal vase for the wife is in order.
What did you do to lose your license? You said you drive like an idiot and one infers from that statement you lost your license...by being an idiot. Apparently this point (being an idiot) weighs heavily on the minds of your friends as they lecture you.
and now... the Camel Cricket
The Mole Cricket is obviously the more macho cricket.
Larval Cicadas (This morning, I stepped on one by accident)
John Secada (never met the guy)
I've seen four in my basement, so far. I also squished one that was hanging out on my porch. I squished it by accident (seems to happen a lot with me). My wife is frightened by them, though I am not sure what she expects them to do. And my daughter delights in watching them hop like mad as I chase them around the basement.
LOL, John Secada..
Good post
Proud graduate of the Hugo Chavez Cat Obedience School.
Good post. Unfortunately it seems that only two or three other people here actually read it. The problem is that you put "first post" in the title. Very few people here actually read past your title.
I also agree.
lol - I'm too tired to care!
