Followed your saga yesterday. Being a landlord has it's downside, no doubt.

Yesterday morning, they were telling us they would have the money by this evening. They also asked if we were paid whether they could reopen; we said "yes".

But, yesterday afternoon, the business owner's son called us from Richmond. He asked us if they could pay $20K now, and the rest after they sell the business.

They don't have the money.

sometimes you just need to take what is there before it turns into zero and a law suit. There was one year that the "write offs" were no longer attractive. Profit was our goal, not sheltering. It is a terrible situation for all of you there
