We just got home and I turned on FNC to see what's new and I thought it must be a re-run or something. Aruba? Bah.

Long ago, I read a Regency romance by Georgette Heyer. The heroine had to choose between a handsome, arrogant suitor and a "best friend" type of guy. The heroine chose the latter, because he was the type of guy who would get one a sedan chair in a rainstorm.

This may seem a silly thing to remember, but it struck me as true. My husband isn't always the romantic ideal, but in a crunch I can count on him. The "romantic" types are not dependable.

I'm not sure how I feel about all the spending yet. We certainly need to put a lot of money into helping the Gulf coast recover from this catastrophe. My main concern is that the money doesn't go into the politician's pockets.

Also, with so many gentrification projects, the poor people get moved out and can't afford the area. We aren't going to rebuild slums naturally, so it will be interesting to see what happens.

The President at the National Cathedral will be on C-SPAN at 11:19 Eastern. I will be switching to that.

When the Aruba thing came on, I flipped over to HGTV. House Hunters is on. I sort of like that show, if it isn't a rerun.

I am heading for the bed and the National Cathedral service, then HGTV.

Aruba is not interesting. to me. As far as I am concerned, the girl was raped and murdered, and her body thrown in the sea. She will never be found.

Whether anyone is prosecuted or not depends on how diligent the Aruban/Dutch authorities are, and I don't hold much hope.

At any rate, I don't ant to hear any more time on Fox devoted to this case.

I like House Hunters too; I can usually guess which house they will choose.

Sleep tight.

IG, talk about whatever subject makes your heart happy, be it grandkids, politics, or just something that happened today or fifty years ago. That is what makes this place so special, a BIG group of friends enjoying each other's experiences and observations! Enuff said, eh?

The point is, W., if my speaking about my gc is causing someone else deep heartache, then maybe I shouldn't do it.

Rubbing salt into someone else wounds is not my cup of tea.

Point taken, but if that were the case, we could not talk about anything, for fear of hurting someone else's feelings. I do know what of what you speak, but God's will is God's will and nothing can change that fact.

Let me explain further..

In some ways I got the same feeling when I had my daycare. The children..grew up and left...and yet.....I moved on.

I'm sorry if I left the impression that I didn't want to hear about you and your grandkids.

In fact, I recently received an email and photo...from one of the parents of one of my daycare kids. It was wonderful.

Well, on House Hunters tonite, some Hollywood people painted their kitchen PURPLE. I won't watch that one when it come back on reruns.

It was almost as bad as the night the ditzy one painted somebody's woodwork black when they were getting the house ready to sell.

Yep! But had pizza downtown before coming up here. [Double pepperoni, 10" and gave a slice to Annie the brewster before motoring up here.] And tomorrow there is no alarm clock, we are gonna close this joint! Where is Mozie with her horse report? [oops] ;)
