I've had a couple of my extended vanities get re-posted on several websites I never heard of and never got credit. The one I did on Osama bin Laden is Already Dead got a LOT of Internet coverage. I don't know of any that went to TV or radio.

That's the way of the Internet, it's public posting, but I do agree that the author should get credit. Doesn't Brit give a lot of credit to FReepers?

Neither of these statements are true. I've heard both Rush and Sean refer to each other numerous times; in fact, Rush did just recently, though I forget the context (it was a positive one, though). And Sean often refers to Rush as "my friend Rush".

How do you know that when Rush talked about someone plagiarizing his show that he was referring to Sean? You don't.

Don't forget that "Lose lips sink ships," including the Conservative cause when we start passing rumors that aren't true, especially about our fellow conservatives.

My guess is some producer at Fox or for Hannity read it and probably contacted Prof. Stone. If I get a chance I'll call him tomorrow and find out for sure.

No biggie. It happens all the time.

I get calls for interviews from TV and radio producers frequently. Special Report with Britt Hume called after my "Fahrenheit 9-11 So What" article for Human Events. They were not aware of some of the things I mentioned. Same thing with the Chris Core show in DC about my "antiwar - communist groups link" piece for Front Page.

I can't say it doesn't bother me. As someone wrote in one post - journalists can make a living only if they get an audience, and they get an audience only if they report what has not been reported before. When people use material without attribution - while it is not plagiarism or unethical ( well a little unethical) - courtesy dictates they should attribute it. When they don't there is nothing one can do.

When it becomes more costly for me to continue to do the hours of research and writing necessary to produce a piece like the enviro-Katrina piece I will stop writing them.

Admittedly though that day is rapidly approaching.

Capitalism is what conservatives uphold; not necessarily so for some posting in the FR Forum. Some only uphold "capitalism" as to benefits themselves; ergo, they cannot see the point of Sean Hannity giving credit where credit is due. But can you imagine the horror-postings which would ensure, if one of these in thread, did some great thing, and they got no credit for it?
