I am amazed that moderators have not pulled this drivel. It is precisely the type of BS we expect from Maureen Dowd and her ilk; Free Republic should not be a sounding board for this type of slanderous fantasy. Trumpet Blanco's incompetence to the world, but accusing her of monstrous evil deeds has no place here.
Maybe it's because they're waiting, as I am, for a FReeper to rebut the fallacious charges levied instead of throwing more fuel on the fire. Perhaps that person will get a "no-ban" certificate or something.

1. Why no police at the Superdome?
2. Why no food/water at the Superdome?
3. Why no authority to National Guard to assist police in peacekeeping?
4. Why wait until Wed to declare an "emergency" when the levees broke on Tuesday AT NOON, and the city was 80% underwater by Tuesday evenihg?
5. Why wait until Thursday to formally ask FEMA to come in?
Can ALL OF this be "incompetence"? C'mon. Really. Really?
Maybe someone can tell me how the "incompetent" Governor failed to send police to the Superdome even though people were getting raped, murdered, and robbed there. Maybe someone can explain why she failed to give the National Guard "police powers". Isn't it interesting that police were working hard to stop looters, but apparently didn't really CARE about the mayhem going on at the Superdome WHERE ALL THE TV CAMERAS HAPPENED TO BE. Hmmmmm... Makes you think...

There are "out there topics" that can be freely discussed on this forum and are. When a UFO thread appears, you can count on the debunkers to pile on before too long, like ants at a picnic. Tin foil theories are ripe subjects for sarcasm and ridicule at the expense of the theorist, the poster, or both.
But there's a fuzzy line separating charges of incompetence and outright willful negligence motivated by political ambition, and I believe you have crossed it.

Yes, and if you and the other "outraged" person had BOTHERED to read all the posts, you would have seen that a vast minority of the posters ridiculed anything.
Now, most people have the ability to "think outside the box" and discuss -- admittedly "out there" -- theories, but apparently not you two.

What is distressing, having been an infrequent poster and mostly lurker for quite some time, is the extreme partisanship that has all but suffocated intelligent discourse. I don't come here to get the party line, I come here for news. When I see garbage such as this (and I've seen plenty posted on other threads that's nearly as "far-out" and even more vicious) it tends to downgrade the validity of other posts which I would really like to believe, especially when there are either weak or no rebuttals offered.

I've known some fine people who would vote Democrat in most local elections. Your brush is way too broad, IMO. Have you seen any Republican President seriously attempt to stop abortions in the US.
Has President Bush written an EO stopping the practice of euthenasia, so there would be a honest wall to wall debate about it in this country? NO he hasn't. As I said, "Your brush is way too broad, IMO."
Other than a few like Christine Todd Whitman, you really can't say that about Republicans.
