Sad story. This guy would have been good in a few years too.

This is going to be an ongoing story in the next 20-30 years with as many 300 lb+ players there are in the NFL.

He likely had predisposing genetic factors.

Screening is the future.

I'd die of a broken heart too if I played for today's 49ers.

It's a very sad story but thank God his family doesn't have to deal with anything other than a tragic physical condition for taking this young man from them.

The average life expectancy of an NFL player is already 55. I think we may even see that fall as the players get bigger and the toll on the body grows.

we lost a co-worker two weeks ago -

400# pounds, refused to see a Dr., Skin color was grey, probable diabetes, hypertension etc.....all undiagnosed

I spoke with him tuesday - and stood at his casket thursday

32 years old

Ive been heavy for 6 yrs due to meds (300#) - hypertension for 25 yrs (medically controlled), hypoglycemia (carbs are good! for me) - But recently left the plant for ft ministry - my bp has dropped from 150/98 to 140/80 in a period of days

still working to lose weight

But stress is the ultimate killer
