Hell Has Frozen Over: NBC Nightly News is talking about the flooded school buses.
6 Sep 2005 | PhilipFreneau

Posted on 09/06/2005 3:51:20 PM PDT by PhilipFreneau

The title says it all. NBC News is currently reporting on "Missed Opportunities" -- actions that could have saved lives. One of those missed opportunities is the 200+ flooded school buses. NBC is even referring to the evacuation plan and its reference to the school buses.

"Today the mayor would not comment [on the flooded school buses]," reported NBC's Lisa Myers.

I kid you not! The report is only five or six days after Free Republic reported it, and only three or four days after Drudge reported it!

I sent a blistering e-mail to NBC on Sunday regarding the Meet the Press segment where Tim Russert was especially venemous to Michael Chertoff. I questioned why Russert (NBC) hadn't held the mayor of N. O. (Nagin) accountable for the hundreds of buses underwater.

Today's NBC segment about the submerged buses was long overdue. The 200+ buses (figure) mentioned in the segment is very misleading, considering a freeper posted a reply to a thread here at FR containing a chart of all of the school buses in the greater N. O. area. The total number of buses was over 8,000 !!!

Additionally, the graphic here at FR depicting the distance of 1.2 miles between the Superdome and one nearby parking lot loaded with buses was conspicuously absent from NBC's broadcast.

Wright-Pat.

I don't know Geezer, this is where the UFOs are stored, so this may just be implanted delusions in all of us.

>>> The school buses are controlled by the parish school board, not by the mayor

I believe the Mayor has the authority to commandeer most anything in his city, public or private, during a declared emergency.

Maybe the will next report this fact:

Mayor Ray Nagin did not issue a mandatory evacuation order until Sunday morning, well after the Saturday mid-afternoon order issued by neighboring parishes.

Hell's still pretty hot.
NBC got close to reporting the truth, but, just couldn't pull the trigger.
Lisa Myers also wanted to know why palettes of food and water couldn't have been dropped down on the crowds at the CC on Thursday.
And then she had some disaster expert with a thick German accent saying that failure- was reprehensible.
And had that maneuver been done, the same expert would have said dropping palettes of food and water down on a mob and crushing people- was reprehensible.
Myers also wondered why the 82nd's rapid deployment force ( which was activated and ready) was not deployed earlier.
No mention of the protocol for federalizing troops and Blanco's responsibility.
Her report left the impression that President Bush refused to deploy them.

The bus issue photo has been the giant elephant in the Democrats and MSM living room. It is appearing now and telling a terrible story of gross negligence, possibly criminal, by the local and state authorities. NOLA has NEVER sent their buses out to evacuate the "poor", infirm, or helpless BRFORE a hurricane, in this case a cat 4 or 5. They gamble to protect the buses. An economic decision contrary to their responsibility to use these buses for evacuation. WHO MADE THAT DECISION to protect the buses?

Hey, she's close to retirement age now. She probably wouldn't of got the job back in 1970 or so if she wasn't at least a quasi-fox.

Anyway, she's the one that went ahead with the Juanita Broderick interview when the rest of the MSM was trying to stonewall.

Thank you to the Freeper that initially did it. If anyone could identify that Freeper it would be appreciated

I believe "doug from upland" first posted it.

I don't think it's all that important that FR get credit. In the overall scheme of things, what's important is that we're becoming a force that changes what is reported in this country.

Sorry, Moderator. I thought I clicked Breaking News. It was a pretty traumatic event, to say the least. LOL!

NBC just got its first poll numbers saying the public is not blaming Bush and is blaming the Cursing Mayor and Clueless Governor. Millions of people were on the net the during and after the hurricane. They have seen the pictures of the school buses. They have visited web sites showing the truth.

If you want proof the trashing of George W. Bush by the main stream media did not work.. then the covering of the 200 not used school buses is proof the media has decided it needs to tell the truth in an attempt to make viewers thing they actually try to tell the truth.

Those buses were not flooded to the point of being unusable as the 18 year old kid who stole one of them proved. He even said that the keys were just right there and all he had to do was figure out which key fit which bus.
