The title says it all. NBC News is currently reporting on "Missed Opportunities" -- actions that could have saved lives. One of those missed opportunities is the 200+ flooded school buses. NBC is even referring to the evacuation plan and its reference to the school buses.
"Today the mayor would not comment [on the flooded school buses]," reported NBC's Lisa Myers.
I kid you not! The report is only five or six days after Free Republic reported it, and only three or four days after Drudge reported it!
>>Found this in the Google cache, the minutes from a June 5 meeting of the Orleans Parish School Board. <<
Good find...
School buses can't be moved without an engineer, a fireman, a brakeman and a signalman in the crew. Young guys who use keys and drive an excessive number of people to houston are risking a catastrophe.

LOL. And they must be provided a 10 minute coffee break every 30 minutes, as per the union contract.
Reminds me of: "You can teach a monkey to do this in 5 minutes. But it takes 10 minutes to teach a human because you have to give them a coffee break."
Travis and Paleo thanks for your pioneering work and effort to get the documentation and pictures out.
The documentation of Nagin's failure to use the buses and the pictures are all over the nation and the world.
Again the internet and Free Republic gets the truth out in spite of the MSM and the lying spinning rats.
Thanks for the feedback.
I have the feeling that if those threads re the buses had not appeared on Free Republic and then emailed across the nation. The nation and Portland would have never heard about what really happened.
Great job by Freepers like Travis, Gideon 7 and Paleo Conservative and the conservative bloggers.
Shucks, all I did was copy cut and paste all over the place!
If the 2000 bus Figure is correct, 50 refugees per bus would equal 100,000 evacuated in one trip.
Thanks for the ping.
"The Archives are so valuable here on Free Republic!!!!"
Absolutely, as Grampa Dave and others say everyday, document the data on Free Republic as web sites get purged by the rats. When the data is here, they can't purge it.
"Nothing escapes the eyes of our many posters!"
This school bus fiasco is a prime example of your on target observation.
You found it and cut and paste.
Then you pinged a lot of us.
We in turned pinged a lot of people and set your posts out in Emails. Once that happens, the rats can't purge the data. The Skunk is out of the bag and stinking up the DNC and MSM headquarters.
Good Phrase.
Free Republic = Leadership with news and the truth.
"We have some of the best and brightest right thinkers and analysts on the planet, participating and contributing on FR."
We do, and the group gets better with each made up crisis by the MSM.
It brings out the best in us. :)
I beg your pardon, but any number of people predicted exactly that.
It was, and is, common knowlege that the levies were built for a max cat III - Katrina was a V.
Granted, it dropped to IV, then three, just before landfal, but the tsunami created by the V was still coming - it takes a lot to slow that wall of water.
Why do you think Bush was beggin Bus Admiral Nagin to evacuate the city?
Captain: What happen ?
Mechanic: Somebody set up us the flood.
Operator: We get signal.
Captain: What !
Operator: Main screen turn on.
Captain: It's You !!
Cats: How are you gentlemen !!
Cats: All your Bus are belong to us.
Cats: You are on the way to destruction.
Captain: What you say !!
Cats: You have no chance to survive make your time.
Cats: HA HA HA HA ....
Captain: Take off every 'Bus' !!
Captain: You know what you doing.
Captain: Move 'Bus'.
Captain: For great justice.
Bush probably had the bus keys hidden in Crawford.
