Oscar-winning Hollywood actor Sean Penn, who has been assisting rescue efforts in New Orleans, said the US government did not "seem to be inclined to help".

Oh, ok Sean....I guess all those thousands of people flew off their roofs. Sheesh...
Okay, okay, the next time the gummint will send someone to remind you to put the drain plug in the bottom of your boat before you launch.
""the US government did not "seem to be inclined to help"." "
I've gotten some grief here because I think the evidence will show uneccesary slowness in the Federal Bureaucracy.
But federal problems are a distant third to the governor and mayor in La. and N'awlins. And how the hell can Penn say that the Fed aren't helping when they seem to be doing most of the work?
This is beyond politics and differences of viewpoint - he is deliberately lying about his government to the foreign press. And he is doing in a way designed to hurt our government's credibility.
AARRRGHHH! It's days like this when I waver just a bit on that freedom speech thing.
And then I remember my family members who died for Liberty and I realize Penn is part of the price we pay for freedom.
But it still sucks.
Democrats may be exploiting a tragic natural disaster to score cheap political points, but at least theyre cynical and bitter about it.
Yep, and you left out unscrupulous.
I would pay a considerable sum of money to see the USCG stop those guys for a safety inspection.
There seems to be an inverse relationship between common sense and the imaginary heroes of Hollywood which also seems to be acerbated by imaginary global warming..
At least we now know who can accurately portray 'not too swift boat' captain.. Lt John Kerry USN
When the Hollywood version of "Slouching Toward Cambodia"
ever comes to the silver screen...
Nice try. I heard the quote. He was blasting the FEDERAL government. He was even griping about the choppers. He said, "they need to be down here". "We need more boats".
Hey, Commodore Moonbat! How about a singalong? All together now: Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream....
LOL
His boat sprung a leak..I did not know what he was doing at first.
hoo boy
That's so great.
All we need to know is he took his "personal photoghapher" with him.
OK what about a complete theater boycott? Oh well, it probably still wouldn't shut these people up.
Shut up and bail your boat, dork!
I disagree. John Travolta has had many fine acting roles in major films.
He and his wife flew their OWN 707 airliner to New Orleans carrying tons of supplies for victims of the Hurricane. They did not take along a photographer, even though they had plenty of room.
Does anyone care what this clown or any other hollywood celeb thinks? Just shut-up and make your crappy movies. Let the adults make the decisions.
