Cycling champion Lance Armstrong is engaged to rock star Sheryl Crow and is considering coming out of retirement to try for an eighth consecutive Tour de France victory, he told the Austin American-Statesman on Monday.
Since Armstrong and Crow have been living together for 18 months, their engagement may have been expected, though the couple has been dispelling breakup rumors since May.
But a spring wedding followed by a summer Tour?
"I'm thinking about it," Armstrong said. "I'm thinking it's the best way to piss (the French) off."
Armstrong said he has entertained the idea for only the past two weeks. He said he began thinking about it when a French newspaper reported Aug. 23 that he had tested positive six times for a banned blood booster as he was winning his first Tour in 1999.
As i call them
Tour De Lance
I say keep going. and then get another american to win after him and on and on on....
I bought one. You don't have to wear it. I don't.
Oh come on now be nice. Personally I think Sheryl is a vacant upstairs as far as her politics and she is a little tough looking but I do like her music and her album c'mon c'mon is one of my favorites and I liked the video for Steve McQueen she wore a big old rebel flag on her jacket and had NASCAR drivers in it. She is a talented songwriter IMHO. You guys (or many of you) like the idea of the macho guy getting around (think James Bond) but who do you think they are getting around with
..? She and Lance have been together for quite sometime now and shes never been married before. This seems like perhaps the first stable relationship shes found and Lance obviously sees something special in her. I wish them much happiness together. I hear it is possible to love a liberal. Hell, Im single at 44 and Im keeping my options open (LOL).
And Lance.. GO for it - win it again!
