CNN Best During - Worst After
CNN TV | 09/06/05 | Self

If you are one of the people that have Dish network and only subscribe to the top 60, you only have CNN. I watched CNN during the hurricane and was actually really impressed...

Then came the cleanup...

I have never seen such negativity. They focus only on the negative aspects. Every guest is prodded on the race question. Every scene is a person "down and out" on the street.

Example: During a slow news section, Wolf Blitzer kept bringing up the apparent animosity between LA governor and the President. He kept bringing up the race issue. Etc.

So I upgraded to Fox news yesterday.

They were examining the criticisms as well but the were focusing on the positives. They not only looked at any perceived Federal failings but the also asked about the role the Governor and Mayor had in the preparation problems. They were, for lack of a better description, fair and balanced. No sugar coating, they showed the devastation, but they also showed coverage of the Astro dome and people smiling.

When I switched to Fox News, I felt renewed pride in America and felt refreshed in my efforts to help the victims. Fox News was certainly worth the extra 6 bucks a month.

Commentary is soooooo biased that I even think that they set up situations just to deliver commentaries. Point in case, an interview with a psychiatrist who came back to help people but who also brought a gun. The thrust of the interview is that the local levels are hard at work and should not be blamed for the fiasco. The obvious point is that the local authorities screwed it up in the first place causing other locals to be hard at work doing the work that could have been avoided... but NO WAY for CNN... It's the governments fault!

It's SPIN SPIN SPIN and Anderson Cooper 360 will have you spinning 360 degrees. These people are intelligent to know that they are spinning but can't rise above their small minded politics... in fact, they glorify in it! That must be a condition of getting hired at CNN. Questions like: "How rabid of a Democrat are you? The more rabid the better!" or "How good are you at keeping a straight face when talking about Bush?"

FOX was horrible at first, but they've gotten better lately. I turned to CNN because I wanted to know what was happening and all FOX had was Shep on the same overpass day after day after day. It didn't take long though, and I had to turn CNN off.

I think during breaking news you have to watch CNN but you have to turn the sound off.

I really do wish FOX would invest some more money and get some decent news crews out there. Someone was really asleep at the switch because if you watched FOX you only thought NO was a single city block.
