Guess we won't be seeing too many re-runs of that briefing. That's the first time tears of laughter have rolled down my face this week. The look of approval on Chertoff's face while this General treated that press mob like a pack of children was wonderful. 'Bout time the big boys started telling it like it is.
I saw him at a press conference yesterday.....VERY IMPRESSIVE guy!
Yea, the press aren't used to being spoken to with such force and tenacity. They're more used to wimpy, simpy politicians squirming.. it was nice to hear hear them smacked for once, trying smear the efforts that are still ongoing.
That was great! And he actually said "That's BS"!
Sounds like my kind of man!!
I live for the day Tim Russert goes after this guy!
In an hour or so, (with any luck at all, and CNN doesn't chicken out), CNN will post a transcript of this press conference. It will be my honor (pun intended) to post General Honore bitchslapping the press corps!
Could this man be our generation's General Patton? Dear God, we need one for sure!
I wish I knew what they were talking about too. I guess it's a secret...
He just wished he could run a press briefing like that...
Some guys can pull off that kind of a rant, and some can't.
The General is one who can.
WOW no wonder they call him....'John Wayne' Honore!
I'm so glad I left the TV on!
He is just the kind of 'take charge' general we need in NO!
(BTW Jesse Jackson is uninformed & doesn't know that Honore is black!)
And the General certainly knows how to handle fools (media)!
What a guy!
I thought Brown came out swinging too. He didn't like the implication that he had zero disaster experience.
no links?
I love his cussing right off the copter.
God, I love Generals.
If you are talking about the press conference...
Wow! Images of GEN Patton came to mind. I love it when he asked the reporterette if she had been accosted in New Orleans (since safety was the thrust of her question). Upon saying "no", he suggested she go to NOLA and do something positive like help out, instead of carping on the basis of 2nd hand rumors.
When this is all over with, Pres Bush should give him Scott McClellan's job. I would never miss a press briefing again!
Awesome. What a nice change from all of this drivel.
Run this man for President in 08. Not kidding. He's Douglass McArthur and Winston Churchill reincarnated at the same time. I swear I have never seen anything like it except in old news reels and histroy books. Did not know men like that were allowed to acheive leadership in the military any more.
Rock N' Roll give that man his fourth star.
I was just going to post something about this General! We should have him talking to the press all the time. He knows how to handle them.
I remember when he 1st rolled in and that little rat from MSNBC some Savidge guy asked the General what took so long. He didn't take any BS from him and immediately put him in his place.
We need him talking to the press all the time.
