Venus and Serena Ready to Rumble

Everyone at the US Open is trying to figure out who has the edge in Sunday's preposterously early battle of the Williams sisters, a fourth-round encounter, the earliest they've met in a slam in more than seven years. Serena has won the last five matches they've played in Grand Slams, all finals, and has a winning record over her sister, 8-6. But, Venus won the last time they played, their only meeting this year in Miami. Serena owns seven Grand Slams to her sister's five and won this year's Australian Open, the other Grand Slam on hard courts. But Venus won Wimbledon earlier this summer and appears to be still on a roll.

The Williams sisters walked out on the practice court together Saturday morning at the National Tennis Center, with, as usual, their father Richard and the family dog in tow. They both wore capri-length pants and t-shirts, and, in relatively subdued fashion went through some classic tennis drills -- at one point hitting down-the-line ground strokes to each other for a good ten minutes. It seemed like just a regular practice, something the sisters have done a thousand times before, and served as a reminder that these two sisters know each other's games in such minute detail that when they play each other it's just about impossible to figure out what's going to happen.
