Well here starts the new dinasty, (if you forgive last year), and the Huskers seam to be up to the same game plan, 4 out of the five first plays were hand it to Ross and watch what happens. I've seen one pass play that Nebraska has tried amount to anything.
I really, sincearly, hope that they are just trying to hide the rest of the season from the real compition, but seeing more than one pass play end up, well hopeless, I've not much hope.
The one bright note seems to be the defense, the freshman/sophmores seem to be taking up some of the slack, and doing somwhat better than last year, though they should against an offense that changes the quarterback at the drop of the hat.
All in all, color me not impressed.
Defense still ruling the day, yet another sac, 7th of the night, second by Bradly, next play incomplete and main is forced to punt again. Main is showin some Pain now. Nebraska returns to Mains 45 yard line.
Seems Main is finding Ross finally. Nebaraska foced to punt. Main fair catch on the 13.
Main sacked again, 8th of the night, character this tome.
Rudd sacked Main and possibly caused a fumle that was recovered in the in-zone. play being reviewd.
Play was deamed a fumble but not recovered by Nebraska.
Cheack that it was deemed an incompleat pass.
Main deflected pass and recoverd the ball on Main's 48 ayrd line, then defense 9th sac of the night, Character again, then fumble forced by Grixby and recovered by Nebraska.
Bad snap by Nebraska at Main's 48 than fumble finally recovered by Ross at the 20.
Main score 52 yard throw, 15-7.
Ross has long run but fumbles and Main recovers, play is being reviewed.
Deemed a fumble Main on their 34, pass complete to the 46.
Nebraska ball on 35, no gain now 2nd and 12.
pas incomplete to T Nunn now 3rd and 12.
Again incomplete to Nunn, Nebarska forced to punt, main signals fair catch at th 24.
Nebraska Bo Rudd intercepts and scores. 22-7.
Nebraska at the 5 3rd down 22-7, 4:48 left in the ball game.
Fild goal good 25-7.
Nebraska 11th sac of the night by Barry Turner.
Nebraska wins 25-7.
Overall game impression, well a little better than the start of the game, but still not impressed. I'd like to see better ball handling buy both the running side, and the receiving side (can we please not fumble the ball so much).
The one bright note, well two actually, #1 the defense seems better (heh 11, count them 11 sacs), #2 hey Mr. Taylor you are a much better quarterback than last year ( thats not saying much) , give your receivers some more practice and we might actually have a threat in the passing game.
The worst note, if I see more than 2 plays in a row with Ross in the head line, I will scream.
