U.S. plays its most important game on American soil in years against Mexico (LIVE on ESPN Classic/Telemundo 7:30 p.m. ET). A win against Mexico and the U.S. can secure its spot in the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
I really wanted to head to the pub for this, but my back gave out today.
I'd even be happy with a tie! I got to meet McBride and Mastroeni, Masioneauve and Wynalda, great guys, they were overjoyed that someone knew who they were.
Now, if only Ireland would make it into the cup...... (dual citizenship!)
Where do you find this stuff so quickly? Cool!
Group Four is a real dogfight. Whoever heard of four out of six teams still being unbeaten after seven matches?
Hope your back feels better soon!
What are the chances that Arena makes a sub at the half?
South America Update:
Venezuela 1-0 Peru 62'
Bolivia 1-2 Ecuador
Paraguay 1-0 Argentina
I'm not sure who he'd sub. I'm underwhelmed by just about everyone in the midfield so far :)
Argentina has a place clinched ... that loss meant little to them, I'm sure.
Lewis and Reyna will get the sub.
Wasn't Onyeayu a Nigerian national? If so, welcome to the USA!
OH, and get Balboa, the guy obviously is dying his goatee!
Well that's disappointing. I figured that you as a newbie would be pro-USA.
Ireland doesn't have the team this go.
One good thing, Australia got the rule changed so they don't have to go through the stupid rule of Oceania teams again. They have a chance of getting in on their own right, not because some crap team like Uzbekistan beat Burkina Faso.
We'll see if you're right. Reyna is already out for the next match and one would think the captain would have a level head in the second half.
I think you're right about Onyewu. I'd love to see the Red Devils get him like I read last week. And Balboa is out of control :)
I was wondering when we'd see you here!
The playoff system seems a little dodgy to me. I don't see Australia having much trouble in Oceania today - I think they won 7-0.
Better stuff from us. Finally. Better ball movement and finding space.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL !!
Gooooaaaaaaaalllllllll USA!!!!
Ralston scores, imagine that!
Beautiful!
Now let's watch Mexico chase the game.
Your team's down 1-0 right now.
