Sometimes you can't overcome poor officiating.
Gee whiz, take a chill pill. Not everyone is into college football.
It's a headline. It's supposed to at least have the basics.
But thanks for forfeiting your position with the ad hominem.
Seems unlikely they'll get to the Rose Bowl with a loss in Happy Valley on their schedule...
No, no. Apparently you don't know much. Texas has a whole bunch of money in it's athletic coffers ear-marked to pay off the officials.:)/sarcasm
You certainly are upbeat about PSU's chances this year.
Stop it, you're killing me!
Seriously, I figure 8-3 this year, and Michigan will be one of the losses. Our defense will be fantastic (allowed <20 points in every game last year), but the offense is still mediocre.
Their QB is something to watch, isn't he. He killed Michigan last year.
I hope you're right, I really do.
I wouldn't be so sanguine about the Michigan game.
If he stays healthy, Texas should play USC for the title, but it's a long season.
8-3 could be about right. Losses to Ohio State, Michigan and Purdue. They don't play Iowa.
Okla's QB and WR's are real green and it showed. TCU focused on the running back Peterson, shutting him down.
Stoops said afterward, it was their poor attitude and lack of toughness that cost them the game. Maybe, but they better find a passing game or we'll see more of that this year.
Everyone should have -- I thought we shouldn't be that high ranked with losing most of our first team players.
IMHO another problem was one Jason White who came back last year and surprised the coaches when he returned for another season which made Paul Thompson go into redshirt. If Paul would have been able to play last year instead of White, he would have gotten a ton of experience with an experienced front line. We graduated 18 starters and had no offensive starting lineman back and very few defense backfield returning -- one true Freshman who last year started at the end of the season and is now a Sophomore. We only have one really experience receiver back as well.
There was a split in the team last year between the White folks and the ones that wanted White not to come back. I am one of the few people around here that didn't appreciate White but last year he only practiced on Wed/Thurs because his knees wouldn't hold up to practice every day. It set the program back IMHO for the younger quarterbacks IMHO. My son who is a graduate assistant and teaches Comp I and Comp II heard a lot from the compliance officer last year about the disatisfaction with White returning and his lack of practicing.
They are going to have to play more true Freshman IMHO. Always thought it was a rebuilding year but it is more than I thought. Lot of true Freshman will be playing line very shortly IMHO. We had an excellent recruiting class and time to think about playing them and letting them get their feet wet.
BTW, Josh Heupel, our Sooner Magic quarterback and graduate assistant for the last two years, was hired by Mike Stoops as we had no openings. I want Josh back as our quarterbacks coach -- he knows how to coach and on top of everything he is a Conservative Republican who sometime wants to run for office here in OK.
I've watched TCU for the past few years. Gunn is a darned good QB, they could go a long way this year.
The Stoops brothers went 0-2 this weekend. Bob with OU of course, but also his brother Mike with U. of Ariz.
You won't see much of Mike Stoops on TV because Arizona is godawful. But he is in need of serious anger management therapy, and he looks just like Barney Rubble.
