I just saw a man, with a baby, when questioned about how he and the child survived, he said " this isn't my baby, I am holding it for the lady over there, very sick".

Sorry, I could not tell if he was a working stiff, or had been on welfare all of his life.

As I understand it, a lot of service industry people in N.O. black, and white, stayed to assist others. I still do not know if they were welfare pimps.
