Timing is everything. Probably not a good day to condemn federal assistance, when hundreds of thousands of fellow Americans are in genuine need.

We have been supporting the majority of the evac's in NO (who can work) for year's and now we get hit again

Ah-h-h-h, that is why recent immigrants (legal and illegal) are so much smarter than we are. "Cash only" means it's only the dim bulbs like you and I who actually 'support' the lunacy. The cash economy is huge and ever-growing because our immigrants came from countries where they have a much more realistic view of the waste of government - hence they don't/won't pay for it. For example, have you noticed that the gasoline stations owned by immigrants frequently have pumps that, for some strange reason, don't automatically dispense receipts? Food for thought, pardon the pun.

The welfare state has made it so these people are helpless. They have no way to do anything on their own. Instead, they wait for someone to come get them and take them somewhere else that they can complain.

Not everyone, of course, but a huge number of them.

When I was a kid, we were so poor that I would have gladly traded the hell hole I had to grow up in for the Astrodome and the daily chicken and beans they are getting fed.

The majority of the refugee's you see on TV have been on FED assistance for there whole life, this is the welfare state hard at work

How can you tell that?  A serious question!  I have watched the coverage on FNN, and I honestly can not tell which of the people being rescued were tourists, residents, welfare people.  If I had been in N.O. during this mess, by now, I would look just like these people, I'm sure.

Please let me know how I can tell which are the welfare pimps, I'd like to separate them out in my mind too. </sarcasm off

Look, these people need help, the single mothers, the tourists, the little kids, the aged, and the welfare pimps. Your attitude does not help. Save it for later, much later.
