Salvation Army for me too. The Red Cross? Wasn't there a problem with all the funds they received for 911 relief being used for admin purposes, upgrading facilities and infrastructure? I suppose it's carping to say that, but I'll stick with the SA.

For those of you who want to help, but don't want it going to the Red Cross for various reasons, check out this Baptist Relief link (and a description of what they are doing right now):

These are great folks who are on the front-line helping out....100% goes to the relief effort, not overhead and administrative stuff.

We're still angry about the SF earthquake... we donated money and received a letter saying that the Red Cross felt like they had done all they could, but they were going to keep our donation to use in other areas of need.

My only issue with NOT giving to them is that my wife's employer is matching Red Cross dontations...

Shepherd Smith of Fox News says he's been in N'Orleans for 6 days and hasn't seen The Red Cross yet!
